Most businesses start social media with a burst of energy. Five posts in the first week, then two the next week, then nothing for a month. Sound familiar? The problem is rarely a lack of ideas. It is trying to come up with something new every single morning.
Here is the simple system we use for our clients, and you can use it too.
Pick two or three platforms
You do not need to be everywhere. Go where your customers already spend time. For most Ghanaian businesses that means Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp Status. For B2B services in the UK, LinkedIn often matters more. Do two platforms well instead of five badly.
Use content pillars
Choose four types of post and rotate them. For example: your work (before and after photos, finished projects), tips your customers find useful, behind the scenes (your team, your process, your space), and offers or calls to action. Now you never stare at a blank screen. You just ask, "Which pillar is today?"
Batch it once a week
Set aside two hours on one day. Take your photos, write your captions and design your graphics for the whole week in one go. Then schedule them with Meta Business Suite or another scheduling tool. Posting becomes something that happens on its own while you get on with running your business.
Reuse what works
One good idea can become a carousel, a short video, a story and a WhatsApp Status. And if a post did well three months ago, share it again with a fresh caption. Most of your followers did not see it the first time.
Aim for steady, not perfect
Three posts a week, every week, will do more for you than ten posts one week and silence the next. Keep your colours and fonts consistent so people recognise your posts while scrolling. And check your numbers once a month to see which posts brought messages and sales, then do more of those.
